Post 14 Members,
American Legion Oratory Contest Update
The Oratory Contest will be on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at 4PM in the Gallatin High School Library. The plan is to have the District 7 Oratory Contest on March 22, 2025. More details to follow.
American Legion Gallatin Post 14 is seeking volunteers to help with two important roles that ensure our post continues to serve veterans and our community in meaningful ways.
- Honor Guard Coordinator
We are seeking someone to take over the role of Honor Guard Coordinator from Jim Howe. This position is vital to honoring our veterans and supporting their families during their time of loss. Responsibilities include acting as the point of contact for local funeral homes, ensuring there are enough volunteers for services, coordinating the transportation of Honor Guard equipment (rifles, flags, bugle, etc.) to cemeteries, and maintaining the equipment. While this is a significant responsibility, you won’t be alone—there is plenty of support from fellow members, and we need a leader who can step up and guide this important program. - Bingo Volunteer Coordinator
We need a dedicated volunteer to help run Bingo in collaboration with local non-profits such as American Legion Bozeman Bucks Baseball, VETS Court, and Scouting America. This position involves coordinating with these groups to ensure our Bingo events run smoothly and that our Bingo equipment is well-maintained. The next Bingo night is tentatively scheduled for February 13th from 7-9 PM, raising money to support Scouting America. It’s a great opportunity to get involved with multiple local organizations while helping raise funds for the Legion and other community programs.
Both of these roles are essential to the continued success of Post 14’s community outreach and veteran support programs. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact Post 14 Commander, Bethany West, at [email protected]. Your help will make a significant difference!
Respectfully,
Bethany West, Commander, Post #14
Frank Harriman, Adjutant, Post #14
